Motorcycle Raffle Raises Funds for Scholarships

A crowd gathered in the College’s Welcome Center, and a hushed silence filled the air, as the winning raffle ticket was drawn for the 2011 Harley-Davidson Vivid Black Sportster motorcycle. RVCC athletes and coaches, along with Foundation Board members and staff, sold over 600 raffle tickets, and raised more than $12,000 to benefit the Williams Harley-Davidson Athletic Scholarship Fund at RVCC. The funds will be used for athletic scholarships, awarded to student-athletes playing on Division II teams – men’s baseball, men’s basketball, women’s softball, and women’s basketball.

Special thanks to Bobbi DiFazio, owner of Williams Harley-Davidson of Lebanon, NJ, who donated the motorcycle for the fourth consecutive year.

“All of us at William Harley-Davidson are passionate about the education and athletic opportunities available to students at RVCC, and we will continue to take pride in our ability to help RVCC and its students.”
Bobbi DiFazio, Owner, William Harley-Davidson

“Athletic Scholarships show the students they have accomplished excellence in baseball. Keeping it shows they understand that academics is a major part of their college career. To others, the scholarships help financially where the family is struggling and gives the student a feeling of helping out his parents in providing for his education.”
Gerard Del Guercio, Head Baseball Coach

They include (bottom row, from left to right) John Murray, Golf; Greg Jackson, equipment coordinator; and Wayne Martin, former Athletic Director; and (back row from left to right) Paul Millar, Softball Coach; Chelsea Chiswick, softball team; Augie Eosso, Golf Coach; Bryan d'Anunciacao, Asst.
